Taiwan Cement Closes Acquisition of 60.48% Stake in ENGIE EPS for EUR 132m

Taipei-based renewable energy company Taiwan Cement Corp. has closed the acquisition of a 60.48% stake in Italian energy storage system and electric vehicle charging infrastructure provider ENGIE Eps from ENGIE for EUR 132m (USD 159m), the company said.

Through this acquisition, TCC becomes the largest shareholder of ENGIE Eps.

As TCC continues expand its renewable energy, energy storage and battery business, this acquisition of ENGIE Eps shares allows TCC to become a global storage solution provider active across all continents, and the first Taiwan-based company to enter the battery and energy storage market in Europe.

With the goal of enhancing knowledge in the technology and the market, TCC plans to continue investments into the energy field and cooperate with ENGIE Eps to develop the global market.
