Friday 17 September 2021

France-based aircraft manufacturers partner Latécoère (Paris: LAT) has acquired Mexico-based Shimtech de Mexico (SDM), a supplier in advanced, precision engineered structural composite assemblies and components, for the aerospace industry, from Avantus Aerospace Ltd, the company said.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Following the acquisition of Technical Airborne Components at the end of August, this is the second external growth transaction since the completion of the Group's capital increase at the beginning of August.

The acquisition of SDM, with its 80,000 square foot facility in Hermosillo Mexico, will accelerate the development of Latécoère's composites production capabilities in North America, better positioning the Latécoère Group for future market developments.

Latécoère is strengthening activities and skills in Mexico in order to provide vertically integrated solutions for future platforms, and better serve North American customers.

Latécoère is a Tier 1 international partner of the world's major aircraft manufacturers (Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, Embraer and Mitsubishi Aircraft), and is active in all segments of the aeronautics industry (commercial, regional, business and military aircraft).

SDM is a supplier in advanced, precision engineered structural composite assemblies and components as well as a specialist in high strength aerospace fasteners for the aerospace industry.
