Vecima Networks to Acquire Technology and Products from Nokia
Friday 31 July 2020

Canada-based Vecima Networks (TSX: VCM), a provider of communications-focussed hardware and software solutions, has agreed to acquire DOCSIS distributed access architecture and EPON/DPoE Portfolios of Finland-based Nokia, the company said.

Financial details are not being disclosed.

Under the agreement, Nokia's Gainspeed portfolio along with all supporting technology and assets will transition to Vecima Networks.

Nokia's Gainspeed cable access portfolio is aligned with Vecima's Entra family, both of which address the migration to cable's 10G platform, including DAA (Distributed Access Architecture) and 10G-EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network).

The acquisition supports Vecima Networks' strategy to provide open, independent, and future-proof cable access solutions that support a multi-vendor ecosystem. The addition of these products and talent broadens the company's DAA platform and adds 10G-EPON products to Vecima's portfolio.

Nokia offers a comprehensive portfolio of network equipment, software, services and licensing opportunities across the globe.

Vecima Networks Inc. is focussed on developing integrated hardware and scalable software solutions for broadband access, content delivery, and telematics.
