UK-based consumer goods company has agreed to acquire Los Angeles-based vitamin, mineral and supplement company SmartyPants Vitamins, complementing Unilever's portfolio of brands in the functional nutrition and supplement segment, the company said.


Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

SmartyPants Vitamins aligns with Unilever's mission to improve the health and wellbeing of consumers and empower people to take charge of their health with solutions they can understand and trust.

SmartyPants Vitamins designs and manufactures multifunctional supplements free of any synthetic colors, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, or preservatives, and are third-party lab tested.

Unilever is a supplier of Beauty and Personal Care, Home Care, and Foods and Refreshment products with sales in over 190 countries and reaching 2.5bn consumers a day.
