Trilantic North America Acquires Stake in Gorilla Commerce

13 February 2020 - New York-based private equity firm Trilantic North America has acquired a substantial interest in Connecticut-based D2C home and pet product development platform Gorilla Commerce, the company said.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Co-Founders and co-chief executive officers Jennifer Bernstein and Marissa Saporta continue to own a meaningful equity stake in the business and will continue to lead the company through its next phase of growth.
The partnership of the two companies will fuel the continued growth of Gorilla's existing product portfolio, accelerate the introduction of new products and enable the company's entry into new sales channels and geographic markets.
Lincoln International acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Gorilla Commerce on the transaction. Kirkland and Ellis LLP provided legal advice to Trilantic North America.
Trilantic Capital Management L.P. (Trilantic North America) is focussed on control and significant minority investments in North America. Trilantic North America's primary investment focus is in the business services, consumer, and energy sectors.
Gorilla Commerce is an e-commerce platform specialising in the development and sale of home and pet products through direct-to-consumer channels.
The company manages over three thousand SKUs across more than 30 product categories through a portfolio of brands that includes Gorilla Grip, Kangaroo and Sofa Shield, among others.
