Trax Assumes Ownership of Nielsen Store Observation Services in US

17 July 2017 - Singapore-based computer vision solutions provider Trax has formed an alliance with Nielson to assumed ownership for delivering US-based Nielson Store Observation (NSO) project-based services in the US, the company said.
The acquisition is expected to drive greater efficiencies and value in shelf activation for clients.
The alliance between Trax and Nielsen will service the US market and is anticipated to grow to global markets in the future. Trax has closed a USD 64m round of investment led by Warburg Pincus.
Additional terms were not disclosed.
NSO provides custom measurement and reporting of retail shelf conditions derived from in-store data collected through manual store audits.
With Trax's computer vision and analytics platform, the company digitises the retail shelf to provide manufacturers and retailers with an accurate, consistent and real-time view of their shelf performance across all channels.
Trax serves the retail market with computer vision solutions, enabling tighter execution controls in-store and the ability to leverage competitive insights through their in-store execution tools, market measurement services and data science to unlock revenue opportunities at all points of sale.
