Ohio, US-based aerospace manufacturing company TransDigm Group Inc. (NYSE: TDG) has agreed to acquire UK-based aerospace-focussed antenna and radio manufacturer Cobham Aero Connectivity (CAC) for approximately USD 965m in cash, the company said.
The acquisition, which is expected to close during 1Q21, is expected to be financed through existing cash on hand.
Cobham Aero Connectivity has established positions across a diverse range of new and existing aircraft platforms.
Major customers include Airbus, Boeing, Raytheon Technologies, AgustaWestland/Leonardo and Elbit. TransDigm said it sees opportunity for ongoing upgrade and retrofit activity as the demand for faster and more data intensive communication continues.
TransDigm Group, through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, is a designer, producer and supplier of highly engineered aircraft components for use on nearly all commercial and military aircraft.
Cobham Aero Connectivity is a provider of highly engineered antennas and radios for the aerospace end market.
