The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Acquires Health 2.0 Conferences

20 April 2017 - US-based healthcare not-for-profit The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) has acquired the conference component of healthcare conference and business intelligence organisation Health 2.0, the company said.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Health 2.0 conferences align new audiences and technologies with HIMSS education offerings to support HIMSS's ongoing vision of better health with IT.

HIMSS will establish a new Health 2.0 business unit within the enterprise that includes HIMSS North America, HIMSS Analytics, HIMSS Media, HIMSS Europe, HIMSS AsiaPacific and the Personal Connected Health Alliance.

HIMSS North America, a business unit within HIMSS, aims to transforms health and healthcare through the best use of information technology in the United States and Canada.

As a cause-based non-profit, HIMSS North America provides thought leadership, community building, professional development, public policy, and events. 

HIMSS North America represents 64,000 individual members, 640 corporate members, and over 450 non-profit organisations.
