Texas-based property and casualty insurance provider Skyward Specialty Insurance Group, Inc. has acquired Pennsylvania-based insurance company Aegis Surety from San Diego-based K2 Insurance Services, to double underwriting and leadership team, the company said.
Simultaneous to the acquisition, Skyward sold its pest control solutions XPro to K2 Insurance.
Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
Combining Aegis Surety into Skyward Surety places the company into its target surety markets.
Aegis Surety offers surety bonds to a broad range of contractors in addition to commercial surety, specializing in underwriting bid, performance, payment, supply and maintenance bonds.
Skyward Specialty is a property and casualty insurance holding company with nearly a billion dollars in premium and USD 2bn in assets.
K2 Insurance Services is an insurance services holding company, which owns and controls a diverse set of speciality programme administrators.
