Shamrock Capital Closes Sale of Business Information and Events Firm Questex

14 September 2018 - US-based investment firm Shamrock Capital has closed the sale of US-based business information and events firm Questex Intermediate Holdings, Inc. to an entity affiliated with MidOcean Partners, the firm said.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Shamrock Capital is a Los Angeles-based investment firm with approximately USD 1.9bn of assets under management, investing exclusively in the media, entertainment and communications sectors.

The firm was originally founded in 1978 as the family investment company of the late Roy E. Disney and has since evolved into an institutional money manager with a group of investors including endowment and pension funds.

Shamrock's current investments include Appetize, Branded Cities, BTI Studios, FanDuel, INgrooves Music Group, Maple Media, Mobilitie, Omega Wireless, Pixellot, Screenvision Media, Silvergate Media and Wpromote.

Questex is a global business information and events company serving corporate clients and industries that are driving economic growth and business innovation around the world.

The company drives business investment, innovation and demand creation in the markets it serves by bringing together investors, buyers, sellers and professionals through its over 125 tradeshows, conferences, and hosted buyer events.

Questex complementary digital media and data assets enable the company to engage with key decision makers in its core markets year round.

Jefferies LLC served as financial advisor and Kirkland and Ellis LLP as legal advisor to Questex on the transaction.
