SGS Acquires Canadian Seed, Grain and Soil Testing Lab BioVision Seed Research

13 November 2017 - Canadian inspection, verification, testing and certification company SGS has acquired Canadian seed, grain and soil testing laboratory BioVision Seed Research Ltd, the company said.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Headquartered Sherwood Park, AB, with additional facilities in Winnipegand Grand Prairie; BioVision Seed Research serves the agricultural markets in Western Canada and beyond.

The company offers testing across a range of crops, supported by its fully-accredited experts and laboratories.

Founded in 1996 and privately owned, BioVision Seed Research employs 20 staff and generated revenues in excess of CDN 3.4m in the last financial year.

SGS is an inspection, verification, testing and certification company. With more than 90,000 employees, SGS operates a network of over 2000 offices and laboratories around the world.
