Rexnord Closes Acquisition of Flexible Couplings Maker Centa Power Transmission

14 February 2018 - Wisconsin, US-based mechanical power transmissions manufacturer Rexnord Corp. (NYSE: RXN) has closed the acquisition of German-based manufacturer of flexible couplings and drive shafts Centa Power Transmission (Centa Antriebe Kirschey GmbH), to expand into flexible coatings market, the company said.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Rexnord said it the acquisition adds approximately USD 100m in revenue. The company expects to drive revenue and cost synergies as the business is integrated into Rexnord and believes the complementary product portfolio opens up multiple growth opportunities.

Rexnord is comprised of two strategic platforms, process and motion control and water management, with approximately 8,000 employees worldwide.

The process and motion control platform designs, manufactures, markets and services specified, highly engineered mechanical components used within complex systems. The water management platform designs, procures, manufactures and markets products that provide and enhance water quality, safety, flow control and conservation.

Centa Power Transmission manufactures of flexible couplings and drive shafts for industrial, marine, rail and power generation applications. Centa's couplings are primarily used for diesel-driven applications where the couplings dampen the torsional vibrations of the engine.
