Resonetics Acquires Caribou Technologies to Expand Medical Device Making Capabilities

8 February 2019 - New Hampshire, US-based Resonetics has acquired Minnesota, US-based medical device machining provider Caribou Technologies to expand services to medical device manufacturers, the company said.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Resonetics said the acquisition broadens its capabilities in several important growth markets, most notably neurovascular, structural heart and other interventional specialties, adding new manufacturing capabilities to produce tightly toleranced metal components and sub-assemblies for leading edge devices.
Resonetics is a pioneer in laser micro manufacturing and provides contract manufacturing services to the life sciences industry. The company designs, builds and services its own laser workstations to solve complex manufacturing challenges. Resonetics is owned by Regatta Medical, a portfolio company of GTCR.
GTCR is a Chicago-based private equity firm focussed on investing in growth companies in the growth business services, technology, media and telecommunications, healthcare and financial services and technology industries.
Caribou Technologies is a leading supplier of centreless grinding, forming, coiling, machining and laser processing for the medical device industry.
