Marfan Foundation Adds Loeys-Dietz Syndrome Foundation to Support People with Marfan, VEDS, Loeys-Dietz

New York-based The Marfan Foundation, serving people diagnosed with Marfan and other genetic aortic conditions, is expanding to add US-based Loeys-Dietz Syndrome Foundation as a new division to offer programmes and support services for those affected by Loeys-Dietz syndrome, the company said.

Terms were not disclosed.

The alignment across the two foundations expands research, awareness and support opportunities.

As a division of The Marfan Foundation, the Loeys-Dietz Syndrome Foundation will continue to operate with the guidance of its existing Medical advisory board.

Marfan syndrome is a life-threatening genetic condition of the body's connective tissue.

It affects the heart and blood vessels, the bones and the eyes. The Marfan Foundation's advances research, serves as a resource for families and healthcare providers, and raises public awareness.

Loeys-Dietz syndrome is a genetic condition that affects the connective tissue in the body.

The Loeys-Dietz Syndrome Foundation provides information about Loeys-Dietz syndrome, encourages education, fosters research, and provides support for affected individuals, parents, and families.
