Focus Home Interactive Acquires German Game Developer for EUR 7.1m

French video game publisher Focus Home Interactive (PAR: ALFOC) (FR0012419307 ALFOC) has acquired 100% of share capital of German game development studio Deck13 for EUR 7.1m (USD 7.98m), the company said.

Of the EUR 7.1m consideration, EUR 6.5m (USD 7.3m) is in cash from the new banking facility and EUR 0.6m (USD 0.67m) in shares held in treasury.

This acquisition will be financed by the drawing down of the new bank financing of EUR 46m (USD 52m), which will also support our other future developments.

This acquisition fits the EEE strategic plan of the Group and will enable Focus Home Interactive to take full control of the Intellectual Property. In addition, Focus Home Interactive is acquiring its publishing service for indie-developments which will help the Group to explore new opportunities.

As part of its development and acquisition strategy, Focus Home Interactive set up in early February 2020 a financing plan with five banks and Bpifrance Financement for a total amount of EUR 46m (USD 52m). This financing consists of several credit lines (EUR 23.5m) (USD 26.4m) and a revolving credit facility (EUR 15m) (USD 16.9m) and two credit lines (EUR 7.5m) (USD 8.4m) with Bpifrance Financement.

Deck13 Interactive GmbH is German game development studio and long-time partner of Focus Home Interactive. The company employs a team of 60 highly skilled workers and has developed over 20 games in the past 18 years. Deck13 Interactive has developed major successes such as The Surge franchise with Focus Home Interactive.
