Bright Horizons Acquires Sittercity Business to Expand Portfolio of Digital Care Solutions

US-based education services company Bright Horizons (NYSE: BFAM) has acquired the business of Sittercity, a Chicago-based online marketplace for families and caregivers, to expand portfolio of digital care solutions, the company said.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Through Sittercity, Bright Horizons expands access to in-home care providers, tutors and educators who can provide in-person or virtual tutoring and learning experiences for children.

Bright Horizons is a provider of child care and early education, back-up care, and workplace education services.

The company operates approximately 1,100 child care centres in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Canada and India and serve more than 1,200 of the world's leading organisations.

Sittercity is a technology company that connects millions of parents with babysitters and nannies every year.
