Bunge unveils buy of Corn Flour Producers
Monday 10 February 2014

10 February 2014 - US agribusiness Bunge Ltd's (NYSE:BG) Bunge North America arm said it had taken over Corn Flour Producers LLC for an undisclosed price.

Corn Flour Producers operates a plant in Worthington, Indiana, milling a range of premium corn masa flours used to produce tortillas and corn chips, with a production capacity of almost 32,000 metric tonnes a year.

The deal adds to Bunge's existing corn dry milling and rice milling operations in the US, while allowing the group to step into a growth market and widen its offerings to customers, it said. Bunge will be able to develop new products and innovations to satisfy demand from customers and consumers, Bunge Milling's general manager Wade Ellis, noted.

The majority of the acquired plant's employees are expected to join Bunge as part of the transaction.
