FirstLight to Acquire PrimeLink to Increase Fiber Capacity in Upstate New York

13 February 2020 - New York-based FirstLight, a provider of fiber-optic data, Internet, data centre, cloud computing and unified communications services has agreed to acquire New York-based voice and data services provider PrimeLink to add addition fiber capacity in New York state, the company said.
The transaction is expected to close in 3Q20, following the satisfaction of customary regulatory approvals. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition will deepen the company's fiber footprint in the North Country and provide additional fiber capacity on a unique route from Albany, New York up into Montreal, Canada, which will help facilitate cross border communications.
Harter Secrest and Emery LLP served as legal counsel to PrimeLink in connection with this transaction. Morgan, Lewis and Bockius LLP served as legal counsel to FirstLight.
FirstLight provides services to enterprise and carrier customers throughout the Northeast connecting nearly 9,000 locations in service with more than 30,000 locations serviceable by a 15,000-route mile network.
PrimeLink provides services to residential and business customers. PrimeLink is a subsidiary of The Champlain Telephone company, a telephone company with over 100 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
