KOSMOS ENERGY TO ACQUIRE LIQUIFIED NATURAL GAS FROM GREATER TORTUE AHMEYIN PROEJCT

Texas, US-based Kosmos Energy (NYSE: KOS) (LSE: KOS) has signed a sale and purchase agreement with BP Gas Marketing Ltd. for 2.45m tons per annum of liquified natural gas from Phase 1 of the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project in Senegal and Mauritania for an initial term of up to 20 years, the company said.
BP Gas Marketing Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of oils and gas major BP plc (NYSE: BP). Following the signing of the SPA, Kosmos intends to book net proved reserves of approximately 100 m barrels of oil equivalent associated with Phase 1, as evaluated by the company's independent reserve auditor Ryder Scott company, LP.
